Exploring Fort Wilderness | Gem Mining, Triple D Ranch & Lunch at Trail's End

Finally, our Summer 2024 Walt Disney World vacation has come to an end. We cancelled our lunch reservations at 1900 Park Fare, so we could explore the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds a little. Rider loves rock, minerals and gem, so I knew we had to do the Gem Mining.

Now, I will say, do not depend on the bus drivers to know the campgrounds. This was the 2nd time that the bus drivers gave us bad information on which bus to take etc. However, we did finally make it over to the Bike Barn which was the Meadow Trading Post stop.

For the Gem Mining, there are 3 bags to choose from. I went with the Mother Load, as this one had the fossils and the larger pieces which Rider loved. It was a fun activity.

There's so much to do at the campground, that I really wish we had taken a day to explore and do many of the activities there like canoeing. Fortunately, with the cabins now being Disney Vacation Club, I know we will be back.

After mining for gems, we headed over to lunch at Trail's End which is now a quick service. I love it as a quick service and the food was great, except Ray's pizza was WAAAAY undercooked. We took most of it home and recooked it there.

After, we explored Triple D Ranch. This barn is so beautiful and I love seeing all the Disney horses.

All in all, it was a great little afternoon and a great way to end our summer vacation.
