2024 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: Did We Make The Most Of It? Was It Worth It?
We went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Friday, November 29th (Black Friday). Our drive from our house is usually about 3 hours, but this day took almost 6 due to several accidents on the Florida Turnpike. So unfortunately, we didn’t get to the party until 6:30pm. However, even with our late start, we were able to get a lot done.
Our first must-do was to see Jack & Sally (or Sandy Claws & Sally). When we arrived, the line was only 35 minutes and it was exactly that. After that, we walked through the party entryway to receive our free Christmas ornaments and take a picture with the Gingerbread Men. This wait was longer than expected, but I’m glad we got this photo.
After that, we headed to Cosmic Ray’s to grab some dinner. As always, if you have an allergy, I highly recommend placing 2 seperate orders. The allergy orders always take longer. In this case, my gluten free order took an extra 15 minutes to be ready.
This was also our first cookie stop and it felt extremely crowded. Maybe it was because it was the beginning of the night, but it was a bit chaotic and a little overwhelming. Fortunately, the other stops weren’t as bad. Rider also really enjoyed the little party they had here with the Disney Jr. characters as we waited for our food.
After this, we headed to Space Mountain. This year they had a Christmas overlay which is a completely different experience than the Halloween party. Because of the Christmas lights, you can see the track which was a little weird, but still fun.
We then went to go ride Tron, but the line was 50 minutes, but we decided to wait until later and at this point, it started raining. We ran over to Storybook Circus and ended up in line to see Santa Claus. This was not in our plans, but it was a place to stay dry and they had craft tables for the kids, which made the wait enjoyable for Rider. It was about a 40 minute wait and the pictures were totally worth it. The rain stopped just before we finished and we found out later that the first parade had been cancelled due to the rain.
After this, we went to ride Tron and the line had gone down to 35 minutes. We then hit up a few more cookie stops and then got in line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train just before the fireworks started. The fireworks started just as our ride was finishing which was pretty magical.
After that, we hit up a few more cookie stops, met Moana (no line) and then went to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure which was a walk-on (it was also 55 degrees) and then Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which was also a walk-on.
Rider wanted to end the night with another ride on Tron, so we headed back to Tomorrowland. As we did, the 2nd parade was starting, so we got to see a little of it, but Rider wasn’t interested in staying. On the way, we saw Sleeping Beauty & Prince Phillip with no wait, as well as Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, so we grabbed quick pictures with both.
We then had a little time to ride Tomorrowland Speedway. They have a great Christmas overlay, so while we normally skip this attraction, the Christmas lights made it a must do and I am glad we didn’t skip it.
Then we finally made it back to Tron and ended the night there. We walked out just after midnight and as we headed out, were able to get a Disney Photopass photo in front of the castle.
All in all, it was a really great night and we all had a lot of fun. While it did feel extremely crowded at times, we definitely made the most of our night and it was a great way to kickoff the holiday season.
